AIA Insurance steps forward to help Queensland flood victims

AIA Insurance has been one of the first life insurance companies in Australia to provide resources to help victims of the recent Queensland flood crisis.

Clients affected are encouraged to contact AIA Insurance on 1800 137 338 to discuss the range of assistance options available. The AIA Insurance team is ready to assist with claims and to guide clients through the process as smoothly and as quickly as possible.

Life Insurance & Income Protection Insurance Options for flood victims

Options available to customers directly affected by the floods will be considered on a case by case basis.  These may include:

• Negotiating special arrangements for premium payments
  for those undergoing hardship;
• Waiver of the Income Protection Insurance waiting period for those with serious injuries arising from the floods;
• Provision of an upfront lump sum payment of the first three month's Income Protection Insurance benefit (returning to monthly payments from month four);
• Assistance with the collection of relevant information in the event the insured is unable to provide documentation;
• Waiver of other requirements to streamline claims.

Life Insurance & Income Protection Insurance Claims

In anticipation of potential claims, AIA Insurance will proactively seek to identify customers who live in flood affected postcodes. They will also provide dedicated resources to ensure that claims are assessed swiftly and compassionately.

In addition to the above, AIA Insurance will be making corporate and staff donations to support the Queensland Flood relief.
